Volunteer at Our Community Garden
At our community garden, every seed planted is more than just a plant—it’s a step toward building a stronger, healthier, and more connected neighborhood. When you volunteer, you’ll join hands with others to help both plants—and people—grow.
From planting and watering to harvesting and sharing food with neighbors, every task makes a difference. You’ll not only gain hands-on gardening skills but also enjoy the joy of teamwork, sustainability, and giving back to the community.
What makes our garden special?
We grow a unique variety of vegetables and herbs—many of them beloved in African kitchens—so you’ll discover plants you may not see in every garden:
Amaranth (bitekuteku)
Spinach
Potato leaves
Pumpkin leaves
Basil
Tomatoes
Garlic
Onions (red, white, and yellow)
Volunteering in the garden is:
Educational – learn how to grow African greens and local produce.
Community-building – meet new people, share recipes, and celebrate culture.
Impactful – provide fresh, healthy food for families and promote food security.
Fun & Fulfilling – enjoy the outdoors, reduce stress, and watch your efforts flourish.
No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands in the soil. Together, we can cultivate not only gardens, but also a spirit of generosity, cultural pride, and resilience in our community.
